How It Works

Identify
Educators identify students who are uncertain about their post-graduation plans. IgnitingTalent offers career exploration tailored to students on both college and non-college tracks.

Develop
After students are identified, IgnitingTalent develops a personalized learning plan aligned with their career interests. IgnitingTalent manages the internship process, easing the oversight burden on Educators and businesses.

Facilitate
During the internship, IgnitingTalent facilitates ongoing coaching and mentoring to help students explore career options and develop a post-high school plan. We integrate the program seamlessly into your school’s framework.

We recommend identifying students who are unsure about their post-graduation plans. Our program is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience and guidance in making informed career choices.
Can IgnitingTalent internships count towards our students' graduation requirements?
Yes, IgnitingTalent's micro-internships can be structured to meet specific graduation requirements, such as Capstone projects or career exploration credits, depending on your school's guidelines.
What role do I play in the IgnitingTalent process as an Educator?
As an Educator, your role is crucial. You’ll help identify suitable students, provide them with information about IgnitingTalent and refer them to the IgnitingTalent team. We’ll provide you with the resources and support needed to ensure the program's success.
Do you only accept students at certain times of year?
We typically receive student referrals in Fall for students who will complete their IgnitingTalent micro-internships in the Spring, and we accept students in the Spring who will complete their micro-internships in early summer.
How many students do you accept from any given school?
At this time, we accept between one to five students per school.
How much time will I need to spend working with IgnitingTalent?
We look at this as a partnership. The initial call with IgnitingTalent to learn about our processes and discuss your school programs is about an hour. The discussion helps determine if we are a good match for your school. After student selection, you will participate in the one-hour kick-off call we have with all students selected for the program. IgnitingTalent then takes it from there. We will give you regular updates on your students’ progress. If a student is not submitting required documents on time, we will contact you to ask you to follow-up with the student. Aside from the two calls and any follow-up needed, we may call to ask for your feedback as we continue to grow and evolve.
